Home for Sale—Cerro Vijia

About to be built!  One of the most common comments I get from people wanting to move to Mazatlan is "Where are the Mexican style homes?" There are plenty of new homes available in Mazatlan, but they are all modern architecture and many of my clients, since they are moving to Mexico, would like to have a home with all the amenities and the flavor of Old Mexico. Until now, we had to try to find a fixer upper, or they had to pay (Now) above $300,000. 

At last we have 3 homes being built to modern standards, but with the look and feel of Old Mexico. These homes will be on Cerro Vejia (Lookout Hill) above the city with views of the city and harbor. Ground will be broken this month on the first home and they can complete a home in about 4 months. Each home will be two stories with the bedrooms on the lower level, the living/dining room and kitchen on the upper level. When you enter the home from the street level you will be in the entry foyer that is nearly two stories high. You would go up only six steps to the living level, or down six steps to the sleeping level. 

The lower level has a master bedroom and bath with a sliding glass door to the patio, and a second bedroom with private bath. Both have Cedar closets. The second bedroom also looks out to the rear garden area, which has lots of room. Enough room even for a pool if you desire. The lots are even large enough to have a garage on the lower street (Jesus Carranza) and still have a pool! 

The second level has the open living and dining room which has a sliding glass door out to a balcony overlooking the back yard. The kitchen has the look and feel of Old Mexico with modern appliances. Included is a gas range, refrigerator, and dish washer. All are stainless steel or stainless steel look appliances. There is a small utility porch off the kitchen and hook-ups for a washer and dryer are included. There is also a small wet bar area off the living room. The counters will be polished concrete (Stonecrete), again for that Old Mexico flavor with a Mexican style molded concrete range hood with tile trim. There is also a half bath on this level with Talavera sink and tile trim.  

The stairs continue to the roof which has a good view of the city and harbor. This level has plenty of room for your deck chairs to get some sun or simply having friends over for a drink and includes a Mexican style built in BBQ. There is another half bath on this level to avoid having to go up and down the stairs all the time. This half bath also has a Talavera sink with tile trim. There is a gated service area for the air conditioning equipment, fixed LPG gas tank, and water tank out of view.  This level has painted concrete floors, but can be tiled for an additional charge. 

Every bedroom, the living room, and the dining room are wired for ceiling fans. (Not included to give the buyer the choice of style they desire.) The home is pre-wired and plumbed for mini-split air conditioners in both bedrooms, and the living/dining room. The mechanical equipment is not included. The plumbing is ready for a pressurized water system with filters. The equipment is also not included, but it is ready to install.
